Radhakrishnan Parthiban’s upcoming film ‘Teenz’ sets new world record even before its release
‘Teenz’ team celebrates music composer D. Imman’s birthday in grand manner
Actor-director Radhakrishnan Parthiban’s new movie ‘Teenz’ has set a new world record for being the first film whose first look was released in theatres with Censor certificate. The certificate for this achievement was presented to Radhakrishnan Parthiban and other members of the movie’s team in Chennai on Wednesday (January 24) by the officials of World Records Union, an official registrar of world records.
On the occasion, the cast and crew of ‘Teenz’ also celebrated the birthday of D. Imman in a grand manner, throwing a complete surprise to the music composer and his family members. His father J. David, wife Amelia and daughter Nethra were part of the event.
In his address, Imman thanked Parthiban for the pleasant surprise and said this birthday would be the most memorable in his 23 years of cinema journey. “I have seen many ups and downs all these years. Some birthdays were joyful and some were not so, but this one will stay in my heart forever,” he said.
“Many said it would be difficult to work with Parthiban sir, but I must say he is very chilled out. His dedication and passion towards cinema are something extraordinary. We initially thought of having just one or two songs in ‘Teenz’, but finally ended up with eight songs. Most of them have lyrics by Parthiban sir himself. Both of us have quirky mind, so we gelled well. Even after he got satisfied with some songs, I would fine tune them more and more. Journalists have polished me very well all these years with their constructive criticism and appreciation. I request them to support ‘Teenz’ as well.”
World Records Union official Sheriffa said, “Teenz has set a new standard to the film industry. We wholeheartedly congratulate the movie’s team for this new world record. This is a great achievement.”
Christopher Taylor Craft, Regional Adjudicator of World Records Union said, “this is a well-deserved award. We are proud to facilitate this. Team ‘Teenz’ has made a first of its kind attempt in the entire world. They have made India proud. Our best wishes to them.”
Ranjith Dhandapani, one of the producers of ‘Teenz’, congratulated the team for the world record and greeted music composer Imman on his birthday.
Producer Caldwell Velnambi said, “We are happy to celebrate Imman’s birthday. He has given an excellent contribution to ‘Teenz’. Parthiban and team have put the efforts required for 10 films in this one movie. I sincerely wish his hardwork should continue forever.”
In his address, Radhakrishnan Parthiban said, “I am in the film industry for the past 33-34 years. All are saying I am doing different films. I am doing so because I want to stay afloat in cinema. So, after ‘Oththa Seruppu’ and ‘Iravin Nizhal’, I am now into ‘Teenz’. I wanted to release the first look of this movie in theatres, but they wanted Censor certificate. When I approached Censor officials, they said this is for the first time they would be certifying the first look of a film. And I immediately decided to go ahead and that’s how it happened.”
He added: “Producers of this film are the important reason behind this project. They produced ‘Iravin Nizhal’. Though it gave me recognition for being the first non-linear single-shot film, it did not earn them much money. But still they came forward to produce this movie just to support me. I believe this film will be profitable. Because I have made this film for kids with 13 kids in the lead role.
This film will not be experimental, but at the same time will be a totally different experience. I have worked with Ilaiyaraaja sir, A.R. Rahman sir and C. Sathya sir. I wanted to work with Imman for a long time and it has happened now finally. I love him from ‘Mynaa’ days. Imman gives so much importance to lyrics. Cinematographer Gavemic U. Ary and Imman are the pillars of ‘Teenz’. You might have seen the stunning visuals in the first look. Imman has given seven great songs. I am so eager to see what he is going to do to the background score. I initially wanted to work with some other composer for my next film, but now I have decided to continue with Imman. Such is his dedication. Media has always supported my each and every attempt all these decades. I am so happy that ‘Teenz’ has received global recognition even before its release.”
A kids-based Thrilling Adventure, ‘Teenz’ is produced by Caldwell Velnambi, Dr. Bala Swaminathan, Dr. Pinchi Srinivasan and Ranjith Dhandapani on Bioscope Dreams LLP and Akira Productions banners. Keerthana Parthiepan Akkineni is the creative producer. Editing is done by R. Sudharsan.
