It is said to stand with a ‘kanganam’ when you stand firmly committed to an action.

Kanganam is a fasting rope tied by fasting persons for temple ceremonies. Kanganam is to tie a finger ring with a yellow rope and fold a betel leaf together and tie it on the right hand. Without knowing the contents, they tie it with a yellow cloth. This is also called as protection. If the protection is tied like this, it is believed that God will get what they want without any hindrance. That’s why. When making a commitment, they say ‘Kanganam tying’.

In the story of the film, the villain commits a horrible incident in the family of the protagonist. Not only that, he humiliates a police officer too. Not stopping at that, he is also giving great trouble to the oppressed people there. Five of them join a group to take revenge. All the three parties who have been affected in this way are vengeful and zealous to avenge him. They are waiting for an opportunity to kill him.

The film was directed by A. Directed by Isaiarasan. He has created evidence of his talent by directing short films. His short film ‘En Kanne’ won four awards.
He and Koothupattarai Soundar are friends. After watching the short film Soundar why don’t you make a film he is the director who created the story on impulse. Kanganam film was launched with the idea that you should play the lead role for this story. For the film, Soundar spent nine months growing his hair and doing heavy exercise to change his body structure and prepare himself for acting. After hearing the story of the film, Kalyani.K and Siranjan.KG are producing the film Kanganam through their company Kalyani E Enterprise.

Koothupattarai Soundar is the hero of the film. The heroines of this film are Ashwini Chandrasekhar who has acted in Jeevi 2 and Title films. Another heroine is Prana, who acted in the films Third Man, Kulechatu, Classmate. Siranjan is playing the lead role and Kalaimamani Saravanan of ‘Baruthiveeran’ fame is playing the role of a police officer in the film. He comes in a powerful role as he waits frantically for ‘this is the gun you’re going to die with’ to wash away the humiliation inflicted by the villain. Sambhatram has played the role of the villain who is the symbol of overall ferocity.

Actor Adrus Karthik, who acted in the recently released and successful film ‘Manjumal Boys’, is playing an important role. Besides,

Street voice knowledge of ‘Enjami’ album fame, V.M. Mahalingam, Kayal Gobu and Srinisha have sung.

The shooting of ‘Kanganam’ has been going on for 70 days. The shooting took place in various locations like Madurai Melur, Chennai and Theni.
