This biographical sports drama sketches a brilliant picture of the life and times of S. A. Rahim, a football coach who catapulted the game to a golden era, especially from 1952 to 1962.
Action hero Ajay Devgan (whose dad Veeru Devgan was a much acclaimed stunt choreographer) has of late been taking up projects that showcase his acting prowess and this breathtaking flick bears testimony to that!
He fits the character like a T and has portrayed his character in a heart moving manner.
The others in the main cast too have executed then selves admirably well.
A. R. Rahman is an USP to the proceedings.
The film has a lot of edge of the seat stuff that are certain to draw the audience to the edge of their seats!
The story telling style is fabulous transporting the viewers literally to the ‘Maidaan’ where the game is played!
A miss not film for all sports enthusiasts as well as those who cherish good cinema!
What Chakde India did for Shah Rukh Khan, Maidaan will definitely do the same for Ajay Devgan.
