‘Sorgavaasal’ is being made as an action drama starring RJ Balaji in a never seen before role. Produced by Pallavi Singh and Siddarth Rao under Swipe Right Studios and Think Studios banners, the film is directed by Sidharth Vishwanath, who worked as an assistant and associate director on Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ and ‘Kaala’ directed by Pa Ranjith.
Director Selvaraghavan, cinematographer and actor Natty (Natarajan Subramanian), Malayalam film celebrities Sania Ayyappan, Sharaf U Dheen and Hakkim Shah, director Balaji Sakthivel, Karunas, music director Anirudh’s father Ravi Raghavendra, Anthony Dasan, Samuel Robinson and Maurish have played important roles in the movie.
Director Sidharth Viswanathan said that the film, which has a prison as the main backdrop, will take you through a gritty journey of the lives of those within the prison walls.
The director added, “RJ Balaji has completely transformed himself into his character for ‘Sorgavaasal’. With the excellent contribution of other actors and technicians, ‘Sorgavaasal’ has taken shape as a film that everyone can enjoy.”
The film’s story is written by director Sidharth Viswanathan along with Thamizh Praba and Ashwin Ravichandran. Christo Xavier, who shot to fame as the music composer for the Mammootty starrer ‘Bramayugam’, is making his debut in Tamil with ‘Sorgavaasal’. Prince Anderson has taken care of the cinematography and Selva RK handles the editing.
