After Soori turned into a hero material, thanks to Vetrimaran, possibly scripts are being conceived and crafted to boast up his image! This flick, an emotional family drama packs in all the necessary elements needed to execute that exercise! Whether it has worked out effectively in deriving the desired effect is indeed a billion dollar question!
For his part, Soori does a satisfactory job and is quite at home as a doting uncle to his nephew. Melodrama dominates the frames as a result of which many scenes and sequences appear contrived.
The emotional quotient goes overboard and hence the scenes seem staged!
Master Prageeth with his chubby appearance steals the show on the strength of his spontaneity!
The story (authored by Soori himself!) is about a huge family consisting of a widowed Mom (Geetha Kailasam), her daughter Girija (Swasthika, sensitising portrayal) her husband besides a bunch of many others(why so many characters in tow, the director only knows!) and above all, Inba (Soori), Girija’s younger brother!
While Inba treats his sister with kids gloves, Girija dotes him as their father!
Girija bears a child a decade later after her marriage and Rekha (Aiswarya Lekshmi) a doctor who attends Girija falls for the innocence of Inba and soon they turn man and wife! Girija’s don is so obsessively attached to Inba that he never lets Inba and Rekha have their private moments!
A rift sets in the family and the brother and sister are drawn apart!
How they unite soon after Rekha delivers is the lengthy rest narrated in a round about fashion with an overdose of melodrama and what not!
A track featuring Raj Kiran and Viji Chandrasekar as an elderly couple who keeps fighting which their love for each other remain intact!
Composer Hesham Abdul Wahab is a worthy new arrival at Kollywood.
Dinesh Purushothaman ‘s camera has brought out a good range of colors throughout the proceedings.
