Based on a real happening at the prison premises, years earlier, reportedly, this is a gripping, raw, blood soaked venture that is high on violence in prisons with no respect or regard for human life, whatsoever!
If you are prepared to play the game in a subtle manner, then there is a waiting time before the gates of the Heaven but if you are game for staying at the helm of Hell, it is a different ball game altogether!
The above statement is the essence of the plot.
Do prisons play the role of a transformer of personality for those who come in or does it make matters move from bad to worse – yet another point to ponder!
RJ Balaji lands there by the force of circumstances for a crime that he supposedly not commit. Selvaraghavan is a hard core criminal counting the prison bars but he runs a regime of his own backed by manpower within the confines of the cell.
Sharafudeen playing SP has a commanding presence throughout till he gets murdered.
Karunas as a two timing jail staff is sufficient.
Natty, somehow or the other fails to impress which is indeed surprising. Perhaps, his bespectacled clean shaven face did the damage!
Selvaraghavan does a neat job while Balaji struggles to impress the audience with a change of image.
There is a touch of authenticity that runs through the entire proceedings, thanks to the director who has established his hold over the medium, rather effectively.
A well conceived, crafted and executed prison story!
