Thank you to the film celebrities who are participating in this festival. We shot this film for 2-3 years. I was working in Qatar, and the director shot this film during his break from coming here. The director is very strict and does not let go until every dialogue is perfect. When shooting a long dialogue shot, it took many takes, and I lost confidence in myself. I thought he would change me, but the next day it was okay in the first shot, and that’s when I got confidence. The film has come out well. Thank you all for your support for this film.

I am very, very happy. My friends from Kerala invited me to this film festival. I came thinking that it would be a Malayalam film dubbed. But they have made it a very beautiful Tamil film. They have shot it so beautifully. The trailer, the three songs, everything was so good. My congratulations to the team. This year only 4 films have won. Last year, out of 220 films, 8 films were winners. 15 films were winners in small films. If a big hero goes behind, a film will not work. It will work only if the story is good. If you choose a good story and cast a new hero and heroine like this, the film will work. What a beautiful title, Akamoji Vizhigal. Ajith always gives Tamil titles but the director has given the title as Good Bad Ugly. Now Sivakumar’s son Surya has given the title as Retro. The number of films with Tamil titles has decreased. The name Akamozhi Vizhigal is very beautiful. The producer, who doesn’t know Tamil, writes Tamil in his language and reads it. His respect for Tamil is amazing. When I shot Sivakasi, the film was remade in Telugu, and I had a hard time speaking at the Telugu event, I understand now, I could have written it in Tamil and read it. The song, visuals and everything in this film are good. They say that Tamil cinema is dying. The government should take action on that. When you decide how much tickets should be sold in a theater, you should also decide that popcorn should be sold at this price. Why shouldn’t the government do this? The government is for the people. Always make films based on the story. Don’t make films that my son should act and my brother should compose music, if you make films like that, it won’t work. Shouldn’t a producer understand my dream and invest in making this film, believing in the story I told, that’s important. Without a producer, there is nothing here. Cinema is the crux of our connection. I am a Malayali but my grandmother is Tamil. My roots are Tamil. Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu are all languages that came from Tamil. Tamil is the language that keeps the audience alive. We have given this film to you, keep it alive. Tamil is what made me a director. I have worked here for many years.
