On behalf of the Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur District Film Distributors Association, a memorial meeting was held under the chairmanship of producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu on the occasion of the demise of the Association Secretary Kalaipuli G. Sekaran. Association administrators K. Rajan, P. Anthony Das, S. Nandagopal, U. Tarunkumar and executive committee members & association members delivered special speeches.
Kalaipuli S. Thanu said, “My brother Kalaipuli G. Sekaran is my brother. I have known Kalaipuli Sekaran since 1973. I have many good memories and incidents with him. Many times we have lunch together in my office. We are enchanted by listening to his stories. No one can deny Kalaipuli Sekaran when he tells a story. He is that talented. He has narrated stories to many leading actors like Rajini, Kamal, Prabhu Deva, Karthik. When I heard the news that he was in the hospital, I went to see him in person. He made some requests. I fulfilled those too. His passing is irreparable to the film industry.”
Keyar KR said, “We may have differences of opinion with many. But the fact that so many people have come together to pay homage to a person like Shekar shows how good he is. The only asset he has earned is so many good hearts. That is his achievement. He would not talk about anything other than cinema. He would not show his troubles to anyone. He would befriend everyone. He would always be with a smiling face. These are all good things to learn from him. May his soul rest in peace.”
Director V. Shekar said, “Kalaipulli Shekaran was a person who had no problems with anyone. He and Kalaipuli Thanu are good friends. Everyone in the cinema should focus on taking care of their bodies. Success and failure are common to everyone. May his soul rest in peace.”
Jayakumar Metro said, “Kalaipulli G. Sekaran is a good friend to all of us. He has a decisive policy. He is a good example of perseverance and universal success. He can put forward his opinion firmly and courageously. I pray that his soul rests in peace.”
K. Rajan said, “I still cannot accept that Kalaipuli Sekaran has left us. He always talks about cinema. He is a good-hearted person who is friendly with everyone. Even though he is gone, his memories will never leave us.”
Chennai Chengalpattu Thiruvallur District Distributors Association Secretary. Producer Nandagopal said, “Kalaipulli Sekaran will always be with a smiling face. He is a good friend to all of us. He is the one who made me contest for the post of Secretary in the last Distributors Association elections. His departure was unexpected. His blessings will surely guide us.”
