Surrogacy is a very sensitive subject matter which leads to some practical issues both for the couple who hire a surrogate Mother as well as the surrogate who bears the child in her womb and gives birth to a child, only to be handed over to the biological parents. In some cases, if the mom is unable to laxate, then the services of the surrogate are still solicited for the sake of breast feeding the child. But there is a risk of the surrogate developing a bond with the child and refusing to part with it!
This is the premise of this well conceived and crafted flick that poses as an investigative thriller!
For most of the screen time, the film sketches the plight and predicament of a lady in whose custody a female child is held but with a lot of love and affection bestowed upon the child by that lady.
The arrival of a man in that hilly terrain in the pretext of laying road changes the flavor of the neighborhood and the further turn of events transport the viewers to an entirely different ball game, altogether!
The closing scene which showcases the child being adopted by a couple is a revelation!
Devadarshini stands tall in her performance.
The rest of the cast too have recorded noteworthy performances.
The cinematography and the music argument well with the proceedings…
A must watch for those who care for discerning flicks!
