E20 material compatible Hector will be available in 1.5 L Petrol MT and CVT variants
at a starting price of INR 13.99* Lakh
Gurugram, April 24, 2025: JSW MG Motor India today announced that the Hector, India’s first
Internet car, is now certified for E20 fuel (20% Ethanol blended) petrol. This reflects the company’s
enduring commitment to a sustainable automotive future that combines innovation and environmental
consciousness. The E20 material compatible Hector will be available in 1.5 L Petrol MT and CVT
variants. This step aligns with the Government of India’s mandate for E20 compliance in gasoline-
fuelled vehicles manufactured post-April 1, 2025.
As a result of securing the E20 material certification, all petrol variants of Hector rolling off the
production line after March 31, 2025, will meet this standard. The MG Astor has been E20 compliant
since last year, reinforcing the company’s consistent dedication to this green mobility.
Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales, JSW MG Motor India said, “The enduring popularity of the Hector highlights
its outstanding quality and an alignment with our customers’ needs. The introduction of the E20-
compliant version demonstrates in no uncertain terms our commitment to innovation and
sustainability in everything we do. We aim to provide vehicles that not only satisfy customer
expectations but also play a vital role in fostering a more greener automotive future.”
The MG Hector, India’s first Internet SUV, was introduced in 2019 and has since set a new bar for
SUVs. With some best-in-class offerings like its dual pane panoramic sunroof and a segment-best 35.56
cm (14-inch) HD infotainment system, more than 70 connected car features, advanced safety offerings
with a host of ADAS features, and other equally attractive incorporations, the Hector has been
designed to provide unique and distinctive experiences to SUV enthusiasts.
