At the beginning, the premise of this revenge thriller laced with action and thrills resembles Drishyam in many aspects but as the screenplay unfolds, this has a different theme with almost the entire force functioning in a different manner!
Unlike in Drishyam, Mohanlal showcases more of his brawn power than his brain power, the justification lies in the characterization that he was formerly a stunt man prior to becoming a private taxi driver, the vehicle being a black color Ambassador, Mark 1, which he treats as a family member!
All is well with him and his family till his son goes missing and his car is seized by the police for having transported drugs!
As time unfolds, the protagonist realizes that the police officers have used him as a pawn in a murder case, the victim being his own son!
How he avenges his son’s death and delivers his own verdict is the predictable rest.
The suspense elements have been kept under tight wraps but after a point, things get monotonous!
Veteran filmmaker /actor Bharathiraja has been under utilized!
The unnecessary references to Ilaiyaraaja and his songs could have been avoided.
Shaji Kumar ‘s cinematography is brilliant.
The film is certain to keep the box-office bells ringing!
