Way back in 1972, veteran filmmaker K. S. Gopalakrishnan, known for his family dramas, had come up with Kurathi Magan sketching the life of gypsies with Gemini Ganesh and K. R. Vijaya in the lead roles.
Prior to that, MGR and Jayalalitha had appeared in a song and dance number attired as gypsies.
After a long time, in the contemporary scenario, Kathirvelu has come up with this down to earth flick the screenplay of which is set around a group of gypsies with Yogi Babu playing the protagonist.
M. S. Baskar playing his father cuts a fine cameo.
But it is Vela Ramamurthi appearing as a philanthropist who assets his class as a village bigwig ever willing to help the locals and eventually, he is held in a very high esteem by the entire neighbourhood.
The narration deliberates in detail about the hurdles of that gypsy group who get ridiculed at every turn as they are looked upon as vagabonds!
How Yogi Babu turns rich owing to the stroke luck and incidentally turns a politician, of course, at the instance of Vela Ramamurthi is the rest showcased in a linear fashion.
