Very rarely do we come across such flicks that are meaningful as this!
This month end, year end release is undoubtedly one of the best films of the season that drives home a very valid suggestion –
those who are in jobs relating to public service organisations should possibly leave no stone unturned when it comes to helping people who are in distress which could turn the tide of their lives opening up new avenues for those concerned!
Vikram Prabhu plays a cop on escort duty who is assigned with the task of escorting a remanded prisoner (L. K.Akshay Kumar) who had inadvertently killed a man who is none other than his lover’s (Anisha Anilkumar)dad!
Five years hurry past but his case is not taken up for hearing while his lover has never ever missed any of her lover’s appearances at the Court!
This occasion proves to be very different as Vikram Prabhu treats him humanly and gives him a patient ‘hearing’ while the hearing at the Court stands away as a distant dream!
At his instance, the remanded prisoner and his lover get an audience with the presiding Judge (P. L. Thenappan, neat cameo) sympathizes with them both and promises to try for his acquittal in the next hearing!
Things don’t work out as scheduled and whether he gets acquitted or not is the tension filled rest.
The police formalities with respect to the role play of the escort policemen has been described in detail, thanks to Thamizh, the writer, who is a director himself!
For a debutante, Suresh Rajakumari’s tight control over the script as well its execution deserve kudos!
He is certain to go places as a discerning filmmaker.
For Vikram Prabhu, it is one of his career best roles and he has put his best foot forward while executing the character!
The film’s surprise package is the presence and performance of L. K. Akshay Kumar! For a beginner, it calls for a lot of guts to come forward to be cast in such a complex character as well as coming up triumphant!
The film’s religious slant is evident but given the fact that reportedly, the film is based on a real life incident translated on the reels, one has to give due space for the filmmaker to exercise cinematic liberties while executing the same!
