Honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Actor Rajinikanth Convey Congratulations to ‘Kaviperarasu’ Vairamuthu via Telephone

Following the announcement that the Jnanpith Award—the highest honor in Indian literature—has been conferred upon ‘Kaviperarasu’ (Emperor of Poets) Vairamuthu, he met with members of the press and media, addressing them as follows:

“Rather than saying, ‘Vairamuthu has received the Jnanpith Award,’ I would much prefer it be said that ‘Tamil itself has received the Jnanpith Award,’” he stated.

Furthermore, he added, “This is a monumental honor bestowed upon the Tamil language after a quarter of a century.”

Stalin, actor Rajinikanth, Honorable Minister Duraimurugan, MDMK leader Mr. Vaiko, Members of Parliament Honorable Jagathrakshakan and Thamizhachi Thangapandian, actor Radha Ravi, and Communist leader Mutharasan conveyed their congratulations to him over the telephone.

Additionally, on the Twitter (X) platform, actor Kamal Haasan; political leaders Mr. G.K. Vasan, Mr. Velmurugan, Mr. Seeman, Mr. Thol. Thirumavalavan, Mr. Vaigaiselvan, Mr. Pari Vendhar, Mr. Shanmugam (Communist), and Mr. T.T.V. Dhinakaran; as well as actor Sivakumar and many others, have been posting their congratulations.

The poet’s sons—Madan Karky and Kabilan Vairamuthu—along with Vasanthabavan Ravi, State President of the Trade Wing Kasimuthu Manickam, Swiss Arul Rasa & Nagendran, IAS officer Jayaseelan, Tamil scholars, and functionaries—including V.
