After a slow start , the film picks up steam and starts to move at a steady pace and finally leaves a pleasant feeling amidst the audience, of having watched a thought provoking film prior to their departure from the theatres!
The theme delves deep into the plight and predicament of a bunch of villagers, the rain Gods, having been very indifferent to that village for long!
Manikkavasagam(Yogi Babu) is a quick-witted man who also serves as the village’s Temple Priest.
Their efforts as well as Prayers prove to be futile and the villagers go to meet the District Collector (George Maryan) to give a petition.
After a long drawn battle, they dig a well in the proximity of Manikkavasagam’s house.
Much to the shock of all, as they keep digging, skeletons belonging to a bye gone era are unearthed and then the Archaeological Department takes over. Sundaravalli (Rachel Rebecca) is the person in charge.Raghavan ( Ramakrishnan ) is her deputy.
How things fare thereafter is the grippingly interesting rest.
The live track between Yogi Babu and Lovelyn Chandrasekhar blends well with the proceedings.
Thiyagarajan’s camera has effectively captured the nuances of rural life.
Nivas K. Prasanna ‘s music has a satisfying effect.
Yogi Babu fits the character adequately.
A feel good film…
