Tamil Nadu Film Awards Ceremony attended by Actor Sivakumar

The third annual Tamil Nadu Film Awards ceremony organized by JD Promoters presented the Nilgiri Thar Awards to independent films made on a low budget. Out of a total of 116 films that entered the competition, 13 films were awarded in various categories.

The special guests at the ceremony were Actor Mr. Sivakumar, Producer and Director Mr. C.V. Kumar, Director, Music Composer and Producer Mr. S.S. Kumaran, Actor Mr. Atma Patrick, Actor Mr. Ashok Balakrishnan.

A live musical performance was given by the band of the “One and Only SS School of Creativity” school students. It was the main highlight of the ceremony.

The awards were presented in five categories. The chairman of the jury, Mr. Saab John Edith, is known for his films like “Guna”, “Jillunu Oru Kadhal”, “Kruthipunal”. He ensured that the best films got their due respect.

Four awards were given in the INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE FEATURE category:

“SU RYEON (WATER LILIES)” was selected as the Best Narrative Film.

“AUGUST 16 1947” won the Best Debut Film award.

Master G.M. Gautham, who acted in the film “BMW 1991”, won the Best Child Actor award.

Mr. Samuthirakani won the Best Actor award for the film “THIRU.MANICKAM”.

In the GENERATION NEXT – TEEN INTERNATIONAL NARRATIVE FEATURE category, only the film “RHYTHM OF DAMMAM” was selected and awarded.

Four awards were given in the INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM category:

“FINGER RING” was selected as the Best Short Film.

“PARAASAKTHI – THE GODDESS” won the award for Best First Short Film.

Mr. Pavel Navageethan, who acted in the short film “PARAASAKTHI – THE GODDESS”, won the Best Actor award.

The short film “LINCOLN” was awarded a Special Jury Commendation.

In the INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY category, the film “PUTULNAMA (DOLLS DON’T DIE)” was selected as the Best Documentary.

In the STUDENT SHORT FILMS category, three short films, “KAANADA KADALU (THE UNSEEN SHORE)”, “LOVE ISN’T BLIND”, and “A SALAAM TO KALAM”, were awarded a Special Festival Commendation.
