Following the success of the film Madras Karan, SR PRODUCTIONS—represented by producer B. Jagadeesh—is embarking on a new cinematic venture titled “Under – 18.” Directed by Karthik Perumal Samy (who previously served as an Associate Director under the acclaimed Director Vetrimaaran), this upcoming film features a stellar cast including Kichcha Sudeep, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Vikranth. The film’s Pooja (inaugural ceremony) was held today in a delightful atmosphere, attended by the film crew alongside leading luminaries from the film industry.

Producer Jagadeesh addressed the gathering as follows:
“On behalf of SR PRODUCTIONS—marking our second cinematic production—I extend my heartfelt greetings to all the journalists, media friends, and special guests who have gathered here today for the Pooja ceremony of the film Under – 18.
The primary catalyst for the inception of this project was my friend, Sai Bharath; it was he who introduced me to our director. Karthik Perumal Samy has worked extensively with Director Vetrimaaran, serving as both an Assistant Director and an Associate Director on films ranging from Polladhavan to Arasan. Subsequently, Vikranth Sir joined the project. Since coming on board, he has been fully immersed in the film—to the extent of shouldering the entire project on his own—and has been actively contributing to every single aspect of the production.
Furthermore, Aishwarya Rajesh Ma’am has been a very close friend of mine for the past four years. I am delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with her once again through this film.
The primary reason for Sudeep Sir joining this project is none other than Vikranth Sir. Sudeep Sir agreed to listen to the script solely based on a single word of recommendation from him. Immediately after hearing the story, he asked me, ‘Are you okay with it?’ As soon as I replied, ‘Yes, I am okay,’ he instantly gave his consent, declaring, ‘I will do this film.’ He had originally planned to attend today’s ceremony; however, due to last-minute commitments regarding his other film projects, he was unable to make it.” He will definitely participate in the next event.
I believe this film, with its unique storyline, will offer the audience a novel experience. We are confident that this will undoubtedly prove to be a successful film. Thank you, everyone.
Actress Radhika spoke as follows:

I jokingly asked the director if the title Under-18 was chosen based on my age! However, the one-line premise of the story he narrated was truly intriguing. First of all, regarding this Under-18… well, perhaps we could call it a “Observation Home” (Koor Nokku Illam). I feel that everyone is indeed observing this project very keenly!
I have known Director Karthik for several years now. He has previously worked alongside Director Vetrimaaran. That makes me feel particularly happy. Our wavelengths of thought are perfectly aligned. I have acted alongside my younger brother, Vikranth, in two or three films. We shared the screen in the movie Muthukku Muthaga. From that point until today, we have maintained a wonderful relationship.
Next, Aishwarya Rajesh. I had the opportunity to work with her in the film Namma Veettu Pillai. She is an incredibly talented actress. Vikranth, you have truly hit the jackpot! She is such a phenomenal artist. She might just steal the show right out from under you—so, be careful!
Mr. Jagadeesh is the producer of this film. I was originally supposed to act in his previous production; however, due to certain circumstances, I was unable to take up that role.

With a fresh, new-generation perspective, Producer Jagadeesh—having selected a storyline grounded in realism—is producing this film with the specific objective of consistently delivering high-quality, content-driven cinema.
The central narrative of Under – 18 revolves around an innocent young man who, while pursuing his dreams of a medical career, unexpectedly becomes entangled in a sophisticated, organized crime network; the story follows the desperate struggle undertaken by his parents to rescue him from this predicament. This film is set to unfold as an emotional drama, portraying the brutal face of the criminal underworld alongside the emotional turmoil experienced by a family affected by it.
Director Karthik Perumal Samy has personally researched lesser-known criminal backgrounds across Tamil Nadu, crafting this film as a poignant narrative deeply influenced by real-life incidents. Blending social realism with familial sentiments, this production is being crafted to resonate deeply with audiences.
Kichcha Sudeep, Vikranth, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Kishore Chethan will be playing pivotal roles in this film. They will be joined by several other leading stars in key supporting roles.
Filming for “Under – 18” is scheduled to commence shortly. Key sequences are planned to be shot across locations in Hosur, Chengalpattu, and Chennai. The production team has announced that the film will be created using authentic locations, realistic environments, and naturalistic visual aesthetics.
