‘7 Star Boys’ – A Film Set Against the Backdrop of Football
‘7 Star Boys’, starring Malayalam actor Antony Varghese, to be released soon in Tamil
With the global football fever rising during the World Cup season, the film 7 Star Boys—featuring leading Malayalam star Antony Varghese and set against the backdrop of football—is gearing up for a Tamil release.
Directed by Nikhil Premraj, 7 Star Boys features Antony Varghese and former Indian national football team player I.M. Vijayan in pivotal roles. The film boasts cinematography by Fayaz Siddik and music composed by Jakes Bejoy. Crafted as an emotional narrative centered on the footballing dreams of young players, the film is jointly produced by C.S. Stanley, Faisal Latheef, and Shony Steejo Sebastian under the banners of Achapu Movie Magic and Mass Media Productions. Producer Ashok of Phoenix Studios is handling the Tamil dubbing and release.
Speaking about the film, the director said, “Local youths passionate about football are ardent fans of the global legend Messi. Upon realizing this, the protagonist, played by Antony Varghese, gathers these young men and introduces them to I.M. Vijayan, a former star of the Indian national football team. Vijayan recognizes their passion and talent and steps in as their coach. Subsequently, the ‘7 Star Boys’ team, comprising these young players, participates in a state-level football tournament.” The story revolves around whether the ‘7 Star Boys’ team—which advances to the semi-finals—goes on to win the final match and lift the trophy.
“The film also incorporates the love story of a footballer. The final 25 minutes, featuring the football match sequences, have been filmed in a thrilling manner that will appeal to all kinds of audiences,” the team stated.
With the World Cup football tournament currently underway, the film is expected to capture fans’ attention due to its football backdrop. Anticipation is also high because it features Antony Varghese—known to Tamil audiences through the film Kaattalan—and actor I.M. Vijayan, who became familiar to viewers through the movie Bigil.
The film crew has enthusiastically announced that the official release date for 7 Star Boys in Tamil will be revealed soon.
