Produced by IDAA Productions and Think Studios under the direction of Director Vineeth Varaprasad, the film “Tashamakkaan” is set in the backdrop of North Chennai, starring young star actor Harish Kalyan and Preethi Mukundan.
With the hugely successful film Lift, director Vineeth Varaprasad is creating this film as a novel experience in a different field, showing another face of Chennai. Harish Kalyan is playing the role of a rapper in the film.
With the completion of the shooting, the final stage of post production work is underway. The film’s title promo and first look were unveiled to the press in a grand manner, attended by the film crew and in the presence of press and media friends.

This is the first time such an event is being held for the first look introduction of a film I am acting in. My thanks to the Dashamakhan team. We have heard about Dashamakhan, Dashamakhan is the place that supplies curry to Tamil Nadu. I have acted as a rapper in this film. Rap music has a long history in Tamil. Many have mixed in rap music before. Many are also mixing in indie music. They are all an inspiration to me. Thank you to all the rappers who have acted with me. Thank you to the director who identified such talents. Music is very important in this film. Britto has mixed it. There are songs in many genres like rap, battle music, romance. He has composed the music superbly. I was doubtful whether I would be suitable for this role. The director said that everyone was hesitant, and I decided to do it right then and there. Everyone has put in a lot of effort. Madhan has reunited with me after Lapper Bandhu. I thank him. Aamir has come as an actor and has also choreographed a song. This film will be a turning point for him. Thanks to Om Prakash Master and Dinesh Subbarayan Master for doing the stunts brilliantly. Sunil sir and Sathyaraj sir have both played important roles. We planned to invite many people for the title promo and finally I was happy when we decided to introduce it to our press friends. I did not get this platform in the first film, so I started this film by thinking that we could create a platform for ourselves instead of investigating why. More than a hundred actors have been introduced in this film. More than 8 rappers have been identified. Harish has played a rapper in this film. I am surprised that he agreed. This is a role that many people hesitated. I am very happy that he came. It is a film about music, we have discussed a lot, searched a lot, and brought rap music in this film. We have brought the Chennai that I know and its life in this film. Thanks to all the assistants and artists who worked on this film. Ameer was initially introducing different people for the role he played, but in the end we made him play the role thinking that he would work for our film. He is an excellent artist. The director of Dashamakkaan, a lake in the heart of North Chennai, showed me around the place several times. The climax fight involved a fight involving 1000 people, and we shot it in a single shot.
