The producer who gave a kiss and ran away: Music composer’s interesting speech at the film event!

I feel jealous when I see Nakul: Director Manoj Kumar’s speech!

The Navaratna ring given by Ilaiyaraaja: The music composer shares his experience!

‘Kadhal Kadhai Sollava’ is a film produced by Pepper Mint Private Limited, featuring Jayaram, Vijay Sethupathi, Nakul, Aathmika, and Rithika Sen, and directed by Sanil. Sharath has composed the music for this film. Shajan Kalathil handled the cinematography. The trailer and music launch event for this film, which has been made in both Tamil and Malayalam and is scheduled for release in theaters on February 6th, was held at Prasad Lab theater.

Directors K.S. Adhiyaman, Manoj Kumar, Rajkapoor, and music composer Ramesh Vinayagam attended the event as special guests.

Director K.S. Adhiyaman said,

“You will see a vibrant performance from my younger brother Nakul in this film. Akash is a big producer in Mumbai. He has come here to release this film. Director Sanil is like my younger brother. I must say that I am a fan of music composer Sharath.

Many talented people were struggling without finding the right path. Now they have all come together. God has brought this film this far. I pray to God for the film’s success. The film’s story is a blend of reality and entertainment. Everyone will like it. It feels emotional right now. This film must be released and become a success. My heartfelt wishes.” While speaking, composer Ramesh Vinayagam said,

“Many AI technologies have emerged now. But this composer Sharath is someone who knows how to handle any technology with ease. He can also create wonderful music even without this technology.

He is one of the four most talented musicians in the country. He possesses that level of musical knowledge. He can reproduce any music authentically. I am happy that he is my friend.” Music composer Sharath, while speaking, said,

“I have already worked in Tamil films like June 6 and 180. There was a question mark regarding whether this film would be released. Now everything has come together. It feels like a dream. I think this is God’s will. Because a film is only complete when it is released, not just when it is made. I grew up listening to the music of people like M.S. Viswanathan and Ilaiyaraaja in the Tamil film industry. Even when I compose music in Malayalam, I write the dummy lyrics in Tamil. Tamil is such a sweet language. I have love, affection, respect, and admiration for the Tamil language.

I composed music for a film here. I composed the tunes, wrote the lyrics, and Chithra and Mano sang the songs. The recording was also completed.

The producer of that film was a very nice person; he always wore sparkling kurtas. Whenever I touched or played any musical instrument, he would immediately give me a kiss, saying, “Wonderful!” If I touched another instrument, he would give me another kiss. He gave me many kisses like that. But when it came to paying the salary after everything was finished, he was nowhere to be seen. He ran away and never came back. I was so disappointed. I want to know where he is; I want to see him. I don’t have a desire to win an Oscar award or to compose music for a Rajinikanth film before I die. I just want to see him somehow.

I can’t forget composing music for the film 180. The director of that film, Jayendra, is not easily satisfied. I composed 180 tunes for that film. That experience is unforgettable.

I am not just a fan of Ilaiyaraaja sir; I should say I’m a propeller. I used to wonder if it was possible to sing all the songs in his music. It felt like a dream. But it happened one day. In the film ‘Tharai Thappattai’, the song ‘En Ullam Kovil Ange Undu’…” I sang the song ‘Deivam’.
One day, when my friends called me, I went to Prasad Studios, and that’s where I got the opportunity. If I sang from a different room and he didn’t like it, I could just run away. But I had to stand in front of him and sing, and I was scared. He made me sing after playing the music twice. After listening to the song, he played it twice more. I was nervous. He called me closer and stroked my cheek. He asked, “Where have you been all this time?” Not only that, he also took a photograph with me. That picture is still in my house. The next day, he called me. He said, “There is no price for music; you know I can’t give you money?” I replied, “Yes, I can’t accept money for singing in your music. I’ll accept anything else you give me, even a beating.” He opened my hand and gave me something. It was a ring, a nine-gem ring. What more award could I ask for? I was as happy as if I had received an Oscar. I cried out of joy. Everyone in my family…
“Even if someone had died, I wouldn’t have cried like that; it was such an emotional moment. I have experienced such things.
My friend Ramesh Vinayagam, who is here, is very talented. I pray that he also gets film opportunities,” he said.

Director Sanil said,

“My mother tongue is Malayalam, but I am happy to be speaking here in Tamil Nadu. Directing a film in Tamil Nadu was a dream of mine. Tamil Nadu is a dreamland for Malayalis. When I was a young assistant, I used to come to Prasad Lab here to collect film reels. I am happy to be back here for my film.
Directing a Tamil film was a dream for me. Success and failure are not important in the film industry. When making a film, the heart should be full. It is cinema that has brought so many people together here. K.S. Adhiyaman is like a godfather to me. Here, the language, whether Malayalam or Tamil, is not important. Talent is what matters. The producer should be happy; I want to see happiness on his face,” he said.

Director Manoj Kumar said,

“I am surprised to see actor Nakul here. I am envious of his dancing. I feel like asking him his age. Many people will fall in love with him after seeing his dance. I am envious and want to reduce that crowd.

I watched the song sequences of the film. They have created and shot the song sequences without any lip-syncing. The visuals are good. A director has all the technical artists within him. Only if one possesses all these kinds of talents can one make a film like this. If a good film is given, people will definitely watch it and appreciate it. The recent success of small films proves this,” he said.

Director Raj Kapoor said,

“I watched the trailer of this film. It is very good. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen something like this.” “The film is being talked about as a film with gunshots. In that sense, I feel happy while watching this film. It gives the feeling of watching a Sridhar sir film. They have made such a good film. Nakul will perform very well after this film. I think this year will be Nakul’s year. This film will surely be a success, like another ‘Kadhal Kottai’,” he said.

Actress Ritika Sen, the female lead, said,

“Thank you to the director and producer for giving me this opportunity. Acting in this film was an unforgettable experience,” she said.

Cool Suresh arrived with a whistle in his hand. He climbed onto the stage and spoke while blowing the whistle.

“Don’t think anything negative about this whistle.
Brother Vijay has given the whistle symbol to his party. I am happy and I congratulate him. They said I look young and smart; the reason for all this is Nakul. I am like this because of him and his inspiration. They also said I create a lot of commotion; Nakul is the reason for that too.

My first film was ‘Kadhal Azhivathillai’. Mr. T.R. introduced me. Similarly, this film will also be a success,” he said.

While actor Nakul was speaking,
“I liked the title of this film, ‘Kadhal Kathai Sollava’ (Shall I tell a love story), the moment I saw it. There is no life without love. I was thinking about saying something philosophical about love.
When I acted in the film ‘Boys’, I fell in love with the film industry and the art.
When I think about that, my love increases. First, my mother loved me. She dreamt that I should act in films. I remember my mother’s love. I developed a love for my body, and after that, I tried to keep myself physically fit. Similarly, my marriage and child gave meaning to love. Love is a fundamental aspect of life.
Love is the reason why so many people are gathered here.” “The reason I’m here for this film is because of my elder brother Adhiyaman. He’s the reason I even came to Chennai. He’s like family to us. Whenever he calls me, he doesn’t say ‘hello’ or ‘hi’. He always calls me ‘younger brother’. He’ll ask, ‘How are you, it’s been a long time?’ This opportunity came through him. It’s a good, unique story.

Life has its ups and downs. There’s a dialogue I had to deliver in the film ‘Masilaamani’: ‘Whatever is destined to happen will happen at the right time.’ That’s what’s happening in my life. This film has a unique story. I’ve acted in a different kind of role in this film. Everyone here has a love story. Everyone will be able to relate to this story. We’ve all worked very hard. Thank you to this wonderful film crew. I only worked on this film for 15 days. Every day was a new and different experience. Thank you all,” he said.

Also present at the event were lyricists Kanmani Raja Mohamed, Muthamizh, Kavitha Ravi, Parthiban, producer Bhadrakali Films Venkatrao, Kannada actor Ranjith Kumar, and producers Rajendran.
Ragukumar, Velayutham, and Akash Ameya Jain, who produced the film, participated and spoke at the event.
