There are many interesting things in this film. All five songs in Yuvan’s music are blockbusters. It was a film that gave Lakshmi Movie Makers a huge profit. It is a privilege to present this film in collaboration with Elma Pictures. This film will be a great treat for the fans.”

“Happy birthday to Simbu. Simbu has millions of fans behind him. We would write a mass scene, and seeing it on screen in the theater with Simbu’s performance was amazing. Simbu is like family to me; the success I gave him is a success I gave myself. Just like then, fans will celebrate in the theaters now. At this time, I would like to thank everyone who acted in this film, including Sneha and Prabhu. Lakshmi Movie Makers produced this film grandly. Fans will celebrate the film even now. Thank you.” Director T. Rajendar said:
“I thank everyone who is celebrating my son Silambarasan’s birthday with the release of the film ‘Silambattam’. My thanks to Elma Pictures’ Ethil Raj and Dream Warrior Pictures’ Gugan. Director Saravanan has delivered a wonderful action film that will stand the test of time. The romantic film starring my son that I watched with admiration was ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa!’. I have also directed many romantic films, but the film that truly amazed me was ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’.

Similarly, when it comes to action films, many films are being re-released. But only ‘Mankatha’ was a success and celebrated by the fans. Why didn’t other films attract crowds? Likewise, ‘Silambattam’ will definitely be a huge success. This film has been digitally remastered to suit the current times. Every frame is so colorful. Saravanan is primarily a cinematographer, and he has shot it so wonderfully. Prabhu, Santhanam, Sneha, and everyone else in the film have acted brilliantly. My film ‘En Uyirulla Usha’ is also ready for re-release. But since ‘Silambattam’ is releasing, I have postponed my film. Even if my friend Vijay’s film ‘Jananaayagan’ is released, I will postpone mine; that’s the respect I give. I pray to God that my son’s ‘Silambattam’ achieves great success in this Tamil cinema re-release. Thank you all.”

Produced by K. Muralidharan, V. Swaminathan, and T.S. Rangarajan under the banner of Lakshmi Movie Makers, “Silambattam,” which was released in 2008, received good box office collections and audience support, and over time, it has become one of Simbu’s cult films. The fact that this film is being re-released with enhanced sound and picture quality to suit today’s digital age is a celebration for STR fans. Silambarasan’s (STR) portrayal of two distinct characters, “Thamizharasan” and “Vichu,” in this film is still talked about by fans today. In particular, the action sequences set against a rural backdrop and based on the Silambam martial art, along with Simbu’s body language and dialogue delivery, gave the film a unique identity.

Directed by S. Saravanan, the film’s music by Yuvan Shankar Raja was a major strength. From the title track “Silambattam” to the melodies and dance numbers, all the songs were chartbusters at the time. Sanusha and Sneha starred alongside Simbu. The villain characters, the emotional mother-son sentiment, and the village politics were among the many elements that captivated the audience.

For fans who want to see the mass hero Simbu, the action hero Simbu, and the rural Simbu all in one film, the re-release of “Silambattam” will be a festive experience.

The film is being re-released on February 6th.
