Poet and Director Seenu Ramasamy Meets Union Minister Thiru L. Murugan; Central Government Support Sought to Translate His Book ‘Cinemavin Aatma’ into 25 Indian Languages!

Chennai:

Poet and renowned film director Seenu Ramasamy met with the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Thiru L. Murugan, this afternoon. During the meeting, he held a detailed and in-depth discussion with the Minister regarding the contemporary social relevance of his book, ‘Cinemavin Aatma’ (The Soul of Cinema: Cinema Appreciation Education for Children).

The primary objective of this book is to curate the best children’s films from around the world alongside exceptional, world-class children’s films made in India, thereby transforming cinema appreciation among children into a structured form of life-skills education.

Explaining the vital need for this education during the meeting, Director Seenu Ramasamy said:
“By the time a child turns eight, they receive over 35 vaccinations for physical health. Similarly, cinema appreciation education would serve as a crucial ‘vaccine’ for their mental health and the development of their aesthetic sensibilities. It prevents toxic influences from tainting tender minds and paves the way for students—including those from simple rural backgrounds—to understand authentic cinema and grow into logical thinkers. Cinema appreciation education will greatly help in nurturing positive sentiments in the minds of children across this vast nation from a young age.”

Hon’ble Minister Thiru L. Murugan expressed great appreciation and delight after listening intently to the details regarding the world-class children’s films curated by Director Seenu Ramasamy and understanding the noble purpose behind the book. “Such an initiative is vital for the country; through it, we will bring immense benefit to our nation’s children,” the Minister remarked appreciatively. He extended his best wishes and gave a heartfelt assurance that the Central Government would handle all official documentation and arrangements to translate this book into India’s 25 major languages, ensuring that children across the entire country could benefit from it.

Expressing gratitude for this momentous announcement by the Central Government, Director Seenu Ramasamy spoke with deep emotion, stating, “To mark the spread of film appreciation education across India, I conveyed my thanks by clasping the Honorable Minister’s hands—symbolically representing the hands of all the children of India.”
