“Nagabandham” Film Press Meet Held in Chennai!!
“Nagabandham” is a pan-India film that blends mythological tales, mystery, and spectacular action sequences. Directed by Abhishek Nama and starring young actor Virat Karna in the lead role, the film boasts visual aesthetics and technical grandeur on a scale unprecedented in Indian cinema.
With the film set for a grand worldwide release on July 3rd, a lively press meet was held today in Chennai, attended by the film crew and members of the press and media.
During the event, the team shared insights into the making of the film, its grand production values, the uniqueness of its mythological world, and the cinematic experience awaiting the audience.
Kalaipuli S. Thanu spoke as follows:
“When I viewed the visuals of the film Nagabandham, a sense of magnificent grandeur unfolded before my eyes. Every scene in the movie reflects the immense effort and high quality invested in it. I extend my warm greetings to all the friends from the press, media, and the film fraternity present at this event.
Producer Abhishek Nama has crafted this film with great dedication. I share a long-standing friendship with him; it is out of that affection that I set aside my other commitments to attend this event.
I would like to share a brief anecdote. Many years ago, for the film Amudhavalli which I released, the advertisement featured only an image of a cobra and a child, accompanied by the tagline: ‘Is the snake coming to caress the child, or to strike?’ That advertisement generated immense anticipation among the public, and the film went on to become a massive success.
The very mention of a cobra evokes a unique fascination, belief, and spiritual connection among people. Many films centered around the theme of the cobra have been well-received by audiences. From tales of Naga Kannigai (Serpent Maiden) and Naga Devathai (Serpent Goddess) to various other creative works, people have always held a special fascination for the cobra.
In that vein, I am confident that the film Nagabandham will also achieve tremendous success. I offer my heartfelt best wishes to the film’s team and hope the movie becomes a grand success. Thank you.” Producer A.M. Rathnam spoke as follows:
“As technology constantly evolves, cinema, too, continues to journey toward new dimensions. Particularly with the advent of digital media, the number of people visiting movie theaters has declined. However, only certain films evoke the feeling that one must watch them in a theater to truly experience them in full. ‘Nagabandham’ is certainly one such film.
The visual grandeur of this movie is immense. Its full impact can only be felt when viewed on the big screen rather than on a small one. The moment I saw the title ‘Nagabandham,’ it reminded me of the mysterious chambers within the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram. There has always been a sense of curiosity and mystery among the public regarding the famous ‘Nagabandham’ chamber that remains unopened. That title alone generates a unique interest in the film.
I do not know the entire story of the movie. However, judging by the trailer and the visuals, it promises to be a grand cinematic experience blending history, mystery, and adventure.
As Thanu Sir mentioned, many films centered on the theme of the serpent (Nagam) have been well-received by audiences. Titles like Nagam, Naga Kannigai, and Nagabandham possess a unique appeal. Similarly, I am confident that this film, ‘Nagabandham,’ will achieve tremendous success.
Director Abhishek Nama has delivered immense visual grandeur for this film; his hard work and dedication are clearly evident on screen. I extend my heartfelt best wishes to the lead actors, the technical crew, and the entire team involved in the project.
I offer my best wishes to the film crew, confident that ‘Nagabandham’ will achieve great success. Thank you.” Actor Ajay Rathnam spoke as follows…
“Greetings to everyone. I am delighted to participate in this event for the film ‘Nagabandham’. It is a significant honor for this movie to receive the wishes and blessings of two stalwarts of Tamil cinema—Kalaipuli S. Thanu and A.M. Rathnam.
The experiences shared by Kalaipuli Thanu sir were truly fascinating. Stories and films centered around the serpent (Naga) have always enjoyed a special reception among the audience. There is a unique fascination and sense of faith among people regarding the serpent, given its association with Lord Shiva. In that regard, I am confident that ‘Nagabandham’ will also achieve tremendous success.
I must speak about Director Abhishek Nama. He is not merely a director; he entered the film industry as a distributor and has released numerous Indian and Telugu films. Understanding why a film…”
He possesses deep insight into the reasons behind success and failure. Subsequently, he produced several films, and now, he has crafted this movie as a director. ‘Nagabandham’ stands as the culmination of all the experience he has garnered over the years.
The lead actor, Virat Karna, has worked with immense dedication on this project; his hard work and commitment are clearly evident on screen. Genuine effort in cinema never goes to waste, and I am confident that this film will bring him great success.
Nabha Natesh has delivered an excellent performance. Jagapathi Babu, Saranya, and the entire cast have done full justice to their respective roles. The technical crew, including cinematographer Soundar Rajan, has made outstanding contributions.
It is a matter of pride that technicians from Tamil Nadu are playing a pivotal role in Indian cinema today; Tamil cinema’s contribution to the growth of the Indian film industry is truly significant.
Overall, ‘Nagabandham’ has shaped up to be an excellent film. I am delighted to have been a part of this project. I wholeheartedly pray that, by the grace of the Almighty—and specifically Lord Murugan—this film achieves tremendous success. Thank you. Actor John Kokken spoke as follows…
“Greetings to everyone. We have already seen many films based on mythological stories. However, ‘Nagabandham’ stands out as a mythological film created on a massive budget, with world-class standards, and designed for a Pan-India audience.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to Director Abhishek Nama for offering me a significant role in this film. I also thank the producers, Nishitha and Kishore. Kishore, in particular, had a grand dream and a clear vision for this film—a vision that is clearly reflected in the trailer itself.
‘Nagabandham’ is a visual spectacle. Even in this era of OTT platforms, films like this cannot be fully appreciated on a small screen; one must watch it on the big screen in a theater to truly experience it.
As seen in the trailer, the story revolves around ‘Nagabandham,’ the ‘Brahma-Kamalam,’ and the mysteries surrounding them. As the protagonist, Virat Karna, embarks on a journey to unravel these mysteries, the audience will join him and experience the journey alongside him. I am confident that everyone who watches the film will feel like a part of this quest.
Working on this film was a wonderful experience for me. I had the opportunity to work with a team featuring magnificent sets, high production values, and talented artists. Nabha Natesh, Aishwarya Menon, Anasuya, John Vijay, Saranya, and the entire cast have delivered excellent performances.
Overall, this is a massive film born out of the hard work and dedication of the entire team. I request everyone to visit theaters on July 3rd to watch ‘Nagabandham’ and show their support.
My heartfelt thanks go to all the friends from the press and media who have been consistently supporting this film.

Did you like the trailer? Similarly, the entire film will…”

Working on the film ‘Nagabandham’ has brought about significant changes within me as well. After completing this movie, I feel much stronger—both spiritually and mentally.
This film speaks to Indian culture, heritage, courage, temple traditions, and various aspects of our ancient civilization. It serves as an initiative to convey our country’s history and spiritual traditions to the new generation.
