‘Sei! Seyyadhey!’ Music and Trailer Launch Event Held with Enthusiasm
The music and trailer launch event for the film ‘Sei! Seyyadhey!’—created with the aim of fostering social awareness among the younger generation—was held successfully in the presence of film industry celebrities, medical professionals, and special guests.
Special guests and members of the film fraternity praised the music and trailer unveiled at the event. They also expressed confidence that the film, which centers on social responsibility, would make a positive impact on the youth. At this event,
Producer Five Star Kathiresan spoke as follows:
“I extend my pleasant evening greetings to the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru Tamilarasu Sundararajan, Thiru H. Raja, and all the special guests, friends, and members of the media present here.
As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, cinema and politics cannot be viewed in isolation; for years, the two have been inextricably intertwined. There are numerous examples of this.
Take, for instance, the film Jigarthanda, which I produced; its story centered on a notorious gangster from Madurai. Yet, in the end, influenced by cinema, that gangster transforms his life and becomes an actor. That film demonstrated that art—and cinema in particular—possesses the power to change even a person’s negative habits. Similarly, Thiru H. Raja has made a distinct mark for himself in politics; his oratorical skills and actions are well known to everyone. I believe that his performance in a significant role adds great strength to this film. That is precisely why I say that cinema and politics always travel hand-in-hand in Tamil Nadu.
The film’s director, Dr. S. Raja, is a qualified medical professional (MBBS, MD) who served as an Assistant Professor. Although he later moved to the United States and attained a high position as a doctor, his passion for cinema drew him back here to direct this movie. Such is the magnetic pull of cinema.
Countless films are released every year. Hundreds of producers and aspiring directors continue to create movies, driven by the hope of success. This reflects their love and dedication to the world of art. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the film’s director Dr. S. Raja, producer Subbulakshmi Jayaram, and editor Raja Mohammed.
May the film Sei! Seyyadhey! achieve success and earn the appreciation of the public…” …I wholeheartedly wish for it to receive a warm reception. Thank you… thank you all.”
Former Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan spoke as follows:
“Greetings to everyone. First, I wholeheartedly appreciate the film’s director and producer, Raja. He was once a companion on our political journey, and today, he has embarked on a new journey in the film industry. We often see people from the film industry entering politics; however, it is highly commendable for someone from a political background to enter the film industry and create a movie with social responsibility.
I extend my greetings to everyone seated on the dais. I offer my warm wishes, especially to Dr. Soundararajan. I had intended to make a special mention of those close to my heart, but I overlooked it while speaking; I convey my affection to them as well.
It was mentioned that this entire film is set in Madurai. I share a very close bond with Madurai; in fact, it was at the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple that my father named me ‘Tamilisai.’ Consequently, I have always held a special affection for Madurai.
I extend my best wishes to Raja—a respected figure and a brother to us—who has acted in this film. I also wish the very best to all the actors, including Guru Vijay. It brings me great joy that this film centers on a crucial, medically relevant social theme. I wholeheartedly wish for the film ‘Sei! Seyyadhe!’—which aims to spread medical awareness and messages of social responsibility—to achieve tremendous success. Thank you. Greetings.”
Director Dr. S. Raja (M.D., USA) spoke as follows:
“My sister Tamilisai has beautifully narrated the story of this film. It is a movie about the medical field; furthermore, it addresses critical social issues that threaten today’s younger generation, such as drug abuse and the practice of self-medication.” At the same time, it speaks to the responsibilities of parents, teachers, and doctors.
I have traveled from the United States multiple times and overcome many hardships to create this film. My wife and daughter have sung for it, and many others have worked hard on the project. In Tamil cinema, there are many people with good creative works who are seeking opportunities…
…are waiting. Our only desire is to provide them with the right opportunities and create quality works in Tamil cinema.
My brother Raja has delivered a magnificent performance in this film. He acted in it solely for my sake, without accepting any remuneration, and put in tremendous effort. I am proud of him and amazed by his work; he has delivered a performance reminiscent of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan. It is my wish to make a sequel to Thevar Magan with him, and I am certain that will happen. You will all appreciate his acting in this film. Everyone will surely love this movie. Thank you.
Tamil Nadu political figure H. Raja spoke as follows:
The support Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan extended while I was unwell was invaluable. I realized the importance of facing any situation with composure. By God’s grace, just six months after my surgery, I have recovered enough to stand here and speak to you all again. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty for this.
Regarding the film, Director Raja forgot to mention a significant detail: the actors wore no make-up. We performed with completely natural looks and simple attire, simply following the instructions of the director and the crew.
Director Dr. Raja, his team, and my younger brother Guru have crafted this film in a very natural manner, perfectly suited to the context. They have created a fine film without prioritizing mere commercial gain or profit. “I am fully confident that this film will receive a tremendous reception from the audience.”
This film addresses the hardships faced by nurses and frontline workers in the medical field. I extend my gratitude to everyone involved; the film is sure to be well-received.
In Tamil cinema, there has always been a special place for works that convey socially relevant messages alongside entertainment. In this vein, Sei! Seyyadhae! (Do! Don’t Do!) has been crafted to emphasize themes such as medical awareness, humanity, family values, responsible administration, and the anti-drug message. The film’s team describes it as a unique creation that blends political drama with medical awareness.
Produced by Harini Subbu Cine Creations, the film features a story and screenplay by Dr. S. Raja (M.D., USA), who also directed it. Subbulakshmi Jayaram (California, USA) served as the producer.
H. Raja plays a special role as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Dr. S. Raja appears as Dr. Chandrabose, and Guru Vijay plays Dr. Vijay. The storyline, which highlights medical ethics, responsible healthcare, and the value of human life, forms the core of the film.
The film addresses critical social issues affecting today’s youth, such as drug abuse, self-medication, misinformation regarding health, the impact on family relationships, and the importance of making responsible life choices. Simultaneously, it underscores the collective responsibility shared by parents, teachers, doctors, and society at large.
Having received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Sei! Seyyadhae! is scheduled for theatrical release in September 2026.
