Grand Pre-release Event for ‘Toxic’ Held in Chennai!

‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is a highly anticipated film produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, starring ‘Rocking Star’ Yash and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Geetu Mohandas. Blending elements such as action, the gangster underworld, family dynamics, betrayal, and power struggles, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26.

Leading up to the release, the ‘Toxic’ team has been conducting pre-release events across various Indian states. As part of this tour, a grand pre-release event took place yesterday at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, aimed at connecting directly with Tamil fans and promoting the Tamil version of the film.

This event, held exclusively for Tamil fans, further heightened the anticipation surrounding the movie. Excitement was already building around Yash’s commanding screen presence, Geetu Mohandas’s unique storytelling, and the film’s spectacular action sequences; the Chennai event further amplified this enthusiasm.

The ‘Toxic’ team attended the event and shared insights into the film’s making, their respective characters, the world of the movie, and their expectations regarding the Tamil audience. Speaking at the event, lyricist and director Vignesh Shivan said:

“It is a matter of great pride for me to stand here. Yash Sir is an icon I deeply admire. Initially, I had the opportunity to write one song for this film, and later, I got the chance to write another. In total, I have penned three songs for this movie.

Yash Sir has fans in every nook and corner of India. I believe that through the film Toxic, his fame will reach even greater heights globally.

Venkat Sir faced numerous challenges and struggles while producing our Honorable Chief Minister Vijay Sir’s film Jananayagan. He remained steadfast even when the film was leaked online. I firmly believe that the people of Tamil Nadu will always stand by you.

Geethu Mohandas Ma’am is like a family friend to me. The courage and boldness you displayed in creating this film are immense. I wish this movie grand success. Thank you.”

Actor Sudev Nair said:

“I last visited Tamil Nadu for the Kaattan series; it was a project close to my heart. Acting alongside Vijay Sethupathi Sir was an unforgettable experience. Now, I am back here for Yash Sir, whom I admire greatly. I find myself reflecting on who I was before Toxic and who I will become after it. I have learned so much from the film’s star-studded cast. Yash Sir is the most inspiring person I have ever met.” This film will be a novel experience for everyone. Thank you.

Actress Rukmini Vasanth said:

“Hello, Chennai! Toxic is a very special film for me. Yash Sir, you are an inspiration to many, and I am one of them. My journey from being a fan of yours to becoming a co-star acting alongside you is truly remarkable.” “Geetu Mohandas ma’am, you have the courage to create a film like this. Thank you so much to the Tamil audience for the love and support you have shown.”

Actress Huma Qureshi spoke as follows:

“I have come to Chennai after a long time. Visiting this place is always very special to me. Wherever I go, people call me ‘Kannamma.’ Toxic is a very important part of my life; I have dedicated my time to this film over the past three years.

When Geetu Mohandas ma’am approached me for this role, she didn’t reveal much about the character; she simply said, ‘Trust me.’ True to her word, she has delivered a spectacular creation. There were many ups and downs during the making of this film, but KVN Productions has crafted it beautifully.

Kiara Advani’s hard work for this film has been extraordinary; she worked on it even while she was pregnant. There are stars and there are superstars, but there is only one ‘Rocking Star’—Yash sir. He is taking the film industry to global heights.

I am thrilled and proud to be part of this magnificent project. Thank you, everyone.”

Actress Kiara Advani spoke as follows:

“This is my first time visiting Chennai. The welcome you have all given me has truly moved me. We began work on this film two years ago—we even celebrated Venkat sir’s birthday back then. Now, the film is just two days away from release. Happy birthday to producer Venkat sir…”
Best wishes!

I extend my gratitude to our cinematographer, music composer, and all the technicians who worked hard on this film. ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara is an excellent actress. More importantly, she is a wonderful human being. All my co-stars are incredibly talented.

We are all here because of one woman’s dream and vision—Geetu Mohandas. Indian cinema will remember your name forever.

After the release of the film ‘Toxic’, Yash Sir is going to take Indian cinema to global heights. This film will offer a fresh experience to the audience. Thank you.”

Director Geetu Mohandas spoke as follows:

“I began my cinematic journey when I was just four years old, and today, here I stand. After I finished my first film, no one believed I could direct a second one; that pattern continued. But now, Yash Sir—one of India’s biggest stars—has placed his faith in me and said, ‘You should do this.’

Yash Sir showed me several mass commercial films, including Padayappa, as references. ‘Toxic’ is going to present a ‘2.0 version’ of Yash. Thank you, everyone.”

Producer Venkat Narayanan of KVN Productions spoke as follows:

“A huge thank you to everyone who made the film Jananayakan a blockbuster success. I especially want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the fans of Thalapathy Vijay Sir, who stood by me during a difficult phase.

Vijay Sir had stated that it would be his final film. However, I feel a deep sense of emptiness knowing he is not currently on screen. So, I once again request him to return to acting.

‘Toxic’ will be a film that paves a new path.” Geetu Mohandas has crafted this film wonderfully. It promises to be a completely unique experience. Nayanthara possesses a distinct aura; her character alone is powerful enough to create a massive impact on screen. Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and the entire team have made extraordinary contributions to the film.

Yash Sir has portrayed diverse roles in this movie. You are truly extraordinary, Sir; you are an inspiration to everyone. Every film in your career marks a significant milestone.

‘Toxic’ represents a completely different world. We warmly welcome you all to the world of ‘Toxic’. Thank you.”

Actor Yash spoke as follows:

“To the people of Tamil Nadu—you have always showered me with boundless love. The affection you showed me during ‘KGF’ was immense; you welcomed me so warmly back then. I bow to the people of Tamil Nadu.

When the film ‘Jananayakan’ was leaked online, it was a deeply painful moment for the producer. Yet, the love you showed even then was unconditional. The love you show to Vijay Sir is just the same.

You approach cinema with such a positive mindset. ‘Toxic’ is a film driven by passion and emotion. It is a completely different world. This movie will be a grand treat for you.

Cinema is not merely divided into Kannada, Tamil, or Telugu; it is Indian cinema. In that spirit, this film will offer a fresh experience to everyone. Thank you all.”

Alongside ‘Rocking Star’ Yash, leading stars including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi play pivotal roles in this film. The relationships and conflicts woven around each character are expected to set ‘Toxic’ apart from conventional gangster films.

Director Geetu Mohandas has crafted a dark, intense, and grand world for ‘Toxic’ through her distinctive visual style and storytelling. The trailer reveals a film poised to deliver a spectacular cinematic experience, featuring high-octane action sequences, magnificent art direction, stunning cinematography, and multi-layered characters.

Filmed simultaneously in English and Kannada, ‘Toxic’ will be released in dubbed versions across Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam. This approach is expected to garner the film a massive reception across India, extending its reach well beyond Yash’s existing fan base.
Jointly produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, ‘Toxic’ is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026.
