Ambedkar Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy Award winning Tamil and Malayalam director Baiju !!
Renowned film artist director Baiju has won the Ambedkar Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi award at the national level for his pro-Dalit activities in the community.
Mr Baiju has been working as a leading artist in Malayalam and Tamil film industry for over 20 years. He has released more than 74 films in Malayalam and directed Mayakottaram in Malayalam and Yaro Oruvan Mararum in Tamil. Currently, he has made a movie called Morgan in Tamil and Malayalam. The final stages of the film are in full swing. He is also making another Tamil film titled Banarasi Babu.
Not only in the film industry, he is also doing many works of social activism and social welfare. Especially his outstanding social work against Dalit oppression has been praised by all. In this case, he has been awarded the Ambedkar Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi Award at the national level for the year 2023 in recognition of his Dalit social activities.
The Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi movement, which is active at the national level, presents the Dalitya Sahitya Akademi Award to selected social activists from across India every year. This year this award has been given to Mr. Baiju.
It will be presented at an India-wide event in Delhi on 10 December in the presence of many celebrities.
