Stunt Director ‘Anl’ Arasu turns Director and Producer with Phoenix
Indian Cinema’s most popular and successful stunt director Anl Arasu , went on to become a stunt director after being a stunt artist for more than 12 years. He has now decided to don the hat of a director as well as a producer.
Titled ‘Phoenix’, the film’s produced by Rajalakshmy Arasakumar under AK Braveman Picturess. Speaking at the launch event of the film, he said that he is looking forward to giving his best from his first project as a director.
When asked about choices for casting the lead actor he said, “While we were shooting for Jawan, Vijay Sethupathi’s son had come to the sets to serve lunch to his father. He was keenly observing the preparation for the action sequence. That was the moment I realised that he was the right choice to play the lead in my directorial debut. When I shared this thought with Vijay Sethupathi, he was very happy about the decision as Surya was apt in this story and said that he is proud to introduce him to the silver screen through this film”.
While addressing the press, Surya said that he wanted to act in fight scenes for a long time and when such an opportunity came, he wanted to make the most of it. He also said that he trained for 6 months for this film and that he will act in this film and make a name for himself on his own without the support of his father. He added, that his father’s style is different and his style is different.
The film kick-started shoot with a Pooja ceremony this morning.
