This Silambarasan starrer is the official remake of the Sandalwood super hit, Mufti (2017) a Shivarajkumar starrer that stood out as one of his highest grossers with Srimurali a lesser known actor as a cop tailing Shivarajkumar who played a dreaded don!

The director appears to have spared no effort to boast the star image of the lead actor with ‘built up’ sequences and words uttered as a punch-dialogue, time and again!

No doubt, he has succeeded in his attempt to do so but some portions certain appear thrust in, in the bargain!

Silambarasan does what he is known for much to the de3light of his hardcore fans who would, ensure that the film scores well at the box-office!

Gautham Karthik plays Sakthivel, an undercover cop set to probe into the vanishing act of the State Chief Minister (Gautham Vasudev Menon).

Sakthivel has a hunch that a don named AGR could be behind but the latter proves too powerful to be netted in!

As Sakthivel investigates further, still deeper, he is more shocked than surprised to learn about AGR and his mission!

Silambaran is almost absent in the first half while his presence more than compensates in the second half!

Gautham Karthik is quite effective.

A.R.Rahman’s background score deserves mention.

The latter half has several whistle worthy moments but still whether this remake creates the same impact as the Kannada original is a billion dollar question!

Watch it for Simbu’s sake!
