The melodious music of Ilayaraja and the colorful frames of cinematographer Edwin Sahai makes this flick aesthetic and artistic!
The film ‘s story, screenplay and dialogue are by Chembur K. Jayaraj who has come up with a neat narration sans any political slant.None of the scenes have unnecessary references, sketching only the life and times of the great literary master whose works have stood the test of time!
Kalaichozhan fits the character of Thiruvalluvar adequately well.
Another USP of the film is the casting of female leads who could possibly give a run for money and looks when compared with the contemporary crop of leading ladies of the times!
The final battle sequences have been canned in a reasonably convincing manner, without much ado!
The film ends up on a positive note with the Literary Association at Madurai recognising the compilations of Thiruvalluvar.

A. J. Balakrishnan, the maker of films as Gandhi and Kamaraj has added one more feather on his classical cap
A noteworthy film that certainly deserves a watch!
