Pallichattambi is gearing up for release on April 10. This project has actually been in the works since 2018, when @DijoJoseAntony first narrated the script to me. It had incredible elements even then, but it took until 2025 for us to finally begin shooting. Between Dijo’s other commitments and my own schedule, we had to wait for the right time, and we also navigated a change in production.
During that gap, Dijo and our writer Suresh Babu never stopped refining and polishing the script. The version we filmed is even better than that first narration. We shot for 100 days with hundreds of actors; it was a massive effort from the entire team to achieve this vision.
The film is a period piece set in the 1957–1958 timeline, with Kerala’s socio-political landscape serving as the backdrop. While it isn’t a direct true story, it is heavily inspired by real events. I haven’t seen the final cut yet because I prefer to wait and watch the First Day First Show with the audience, but the producers are very excited about the output. If you’re looking for something different, please catch it in theaters on April 10.
